Information about this site is the online service of the Permanent Representation of Finland to the European Union and the distribution channel for information and services provided by the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs for Finns and non-Finns alike. The online service is provided in Finnish, Swedish, English and French.

Front-page news covers the activities of the EU Representation and current EU affairs. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ current affairs column contains communiqués, speeches and articles from the state and foreign affairs administration.

The Current Affairs link takes users to the Permanent Representation’s own communiqués and articles about the activities of the Permanent Representation. Communiqués from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are also available on this page and are updated via the site. Current affairs material can be ordered as an RSS feed for delivery to an RSS reader.

The Meeting Calendar provides information on the most important EU meetings in which Finland is participating.

The Permanent Representation section describes the mission of the Representation, its staff, who does what and the history of the Representation in Brussels.

The Services section gives details of the services provided by the Representation.

The Finland in the EU pages present Finland’s activities in each sector of EU activity, how EU affairs are handled and a brief description of the EU institutions.

The Links pages provide links to the sites of e.g. the Finnish state administration and the EU institutions. The Permanent Representation of Finland to the European Union declines all responsibility for the content of sites to which links are provided.

The Feedback form can be used to contact the Permanent Representation and to ask questions, make comments and provide feedback on the web site.

The Contact Details pages show how to contact the EU Representation. The pages also provide links to other Finnish representations around the world.

Users can keep an eye on the Current Affairs section with the help of an RSS feed (Really Simple Syndication/Rich Site Summary). A user can ask for the latest news to be delivered to an RSS reader. This means that a user does not have to keep visiting the site to receive updates.

How to use the site

The Language Options, Site Map, Feedback and Search features are to be found in the top right-hand corner of each page.

The user can navigate to the Finnish, English, French and Swedish interfaces by selecting from the Language Options. An indication is given with individual communiqués and documents of whether they are available in other languages.

The Site Map operates as a search function, and clicking on the plus sign in front of the word brings up the navigation feature below and the site contents.

The Feedback Form can be used to communicate with the Representation, which processes the feedback that it receives as quickly as possible.

The Search function operates by way of a free search. A search can be refined using an asterisk to split a word and by using AND or OR to combine words.
