Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Tahiri to visit Finland

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo and Head of Kosova delegation at the Kosovo-Serbia Technical Dialogue Edita Tahiri will visit Finland from 23 to 24 April. She will meet Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja, Minister of the Interior Päivi Räsänen and President Martti Ahtisaari. On 24 April, Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri will also participate in a seminar organised by the Finnish Institute of International Affairs, titled “Kosovo’s current dilemma: How much to compromise over the EU dream?”.

With Foreign Minister Tuomioja, the topics of discussion will include the relations between Finland and Kosovo, regional cooperation of the Western Balkans, and Kosovo-Serbia Technical Dialogue. With President Ahtisaari, the minister will discuss the situation of Kosovo and the international status of Kosovo, including the end of supervised independence. With Minister of the Interior Räsänen the topics of discussion will include visa issues, EULEX (European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo), rescue services cooperation and Twinning projects.
