“European economy has gone through a three-phased crisis: first a banking crisis, then a sovereign debt crisis, now a growth crisis. The situation is still very fragile", said Prime Minister of Finland, Alexander Stubb on Thursday in Helsinki ahead of the European Council.
"What we need now is bold market liberalisation. The EU strategic agenda should be based on free movement of goods, services, money and people."
"It is not the EU or the Member States that create growth and jobs. It is up to people and enterprises to do that, and political leaders should do everything to facilitate this. We need structural changes at Member State level, finalisation of the digital single market and the single market for services at the EU level and more free trade with our key partners and globally", Prime Minister Stubb concluded.
