Prime Minister Juha Sipilä will participate in the Summit of the heads of state or government of the EU Member States and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) in Brussels on 10-11 June.
The Summit will focus on political and economic relations between the areas, international relations and global questions. The EU is the largest foreign investor in the CELAC area and the second largest trading partner.
The Summit will also offer an opportunity for the heads of state or government to bilateral discussions.
On 9 June, Minister for Foreign Affairs Timo Soini will participate in a foreign ministers' meeting which will prepare the Summit.
